We went and watched Bama gymnastics a couples weeks ago. The girls
were excited about the evening, but for very different reasons. Cassi LOVES gymnastics, so it's pretty obvious what she was excited about. Sophie, on the other hand, had visions of the fluffy, pink sugary stuff...cotton candy!
We got lucky and saw this guy
when we first walked in the coliseum. It was Sophie's first time meeting Big AL. Cassi had the honor when she was just a tot.
In other randomness, who else is ready for Winter to be over? I know we are! The whole month of January (and part of this month) has been one big blur of sickness. Luckily, it has been warm a few days this month and we've been able to get outside which makes me wish Spring was already here! Sophie has been getting a jump start on preparing our garden...
She loves digging and saying things like, "look at this amazing fossil!" :)
More Random Cute Sayings:
Cassi - "I may be the first kid ever to carry a biscotti to that school!"
Sophie - "Are you going to push my tentacles down?" (she meant cuticles, as I was giving her a manicure)
Until next time...
A few weeks ago, we had a blizzard. Okay, not really, but that didn't stop the girls from being creative with the resources they had. They created a mini snow ice girl.
She was quite the fashionista. Just think of what the girls could do if we actually got real snow!?!
And speaking of creativity, here's another little gem that I found Sophie working on this morning...
Don't you just love the water and crackers fish that is around the castle? :)
The first of December kicked off the holiday season with the return of Ralphie and his mischievous behavior. Each morning the girls looked forward to seeing what he had been doing the night before.
There were visits to see the big guy.
We attended a Christmas play and recital.
We enjoyed movie nights.
There was some holiday baking with me and my little elves.
We had our traditional gingerbread house decorating on Christmas Eve.
(Josh and Cassi's on the left. Sophie and I on the right.)
And last but not least, Christmas morning.
Santa was really good to us. :)
It doesn't seem like that long ago that we were meeting our lil' Bean for the first time and now she's practically grown. Okay, maybe not grown just yet. :)
We had her birthday party this past Saturday. Thanks to all who attended and for those who sent birthday wishes if you weren't able to make it. The theme of the party was a Sophie original of course. It all started with that globe in the background. If you add some animals to the mix, then you have "Animals Around the World".
More party photos coming soon!
Sophie had her very first school play last month. They performed some really cute songs. She and her classmates were the pilgrims while another class were the Indians. I thought they were just adorable in their little, paper costumes.
Especially this one...
When the play was over, Josh and I got to have a Thanksgiving feast with her...a perfect way to end a Thanksgiving play. :)
Yes, I know Thanksgiving is this week, but I feel the need to post these photos because I said I would. I apologize for the delay because I know all 3 readers of my blog have been on the edge of their seats waiting in anticipation. lol. I've been super busy with stuff, but this morning I'm taking the time to update. :) Anyway, here's a few photos from our Halloween meal that we always look forward to each year and this year was no exception.
This was our haunted, (mostly veggie) forest complete with a swamp in the middle...
The rest of the spread...mummy dogs, doritos, orange soda...
and (my personal favorite) monster brownies...
and two very, happy girls...
and now for the revealing of Cassi's costume...
the Spa Princess! This costume was so...Cassi. :)
With Halloween being on Sunday, some folks celebrated on Saturday night and some on Sunday. We actually went trick-or-treating on Sunday night and the girls handed out candy on Saturday night. We had sooo many trick-or-treaters! It's always fun seeing the many different costumes though. I think the cutest one had to be a little guy dressed as Big AL. He even gave us a "Roll Tide" before he left.
Here's some fun shots of the girls before we went trick-or-treating...
and our pumpkins this year...a cat and the evil queen
We also had our little Halloween dinner this year...stay tuned for the photos!
