Back from the Beach

Actually, we've been back for several days, but I'm just now getting around to updating the blog.  We had a terrific time at the beach.

We did lots of fun activities while there...putt-putt golf, build-a-bear workshop, rode go-carts and a ferris wheel, ate yummy seafood, shopped and of course played in the sand and water.  If you want to see more photos, check out the Beach Trip album.

How we spent our 4th

We did some swimming...

...which included knocking Daddy off the air mattress again and again.

Ahh sweet victory...

Then Sophie took us to get some kid friendly fireworks...

Snap and Pops were definitely a hit.  They couldn't get enough of them...

Then we had a yummy meal a la Bobby Flay (steak and shrimp) and Pioneer Woman (potatoes) recipes.  And red velvet cupcakes for dessert.  It was all very yummy!

We completed our 4th of July festivities with sparklers and watching the neighbor's firework show.  Here's a few photos of our sparkler fun...

Girl Time

The girls and I did some girly things this afternoon.  I gave us all manicures and pedicures complete with some nail gems/stickers.  After that, we did hair and make-up followed by a fashion show and photo shoot.  The girls were loving every minute of it too.
Here they are on the runway...

Fun with the Fam

We had company yesterday and today.  Mamaw, Papaw and Hawken came to visit the girls.  They had a blast playing in the pool, playing baseball and jumping on the trampoline.  I did manage to get one cute photo of the cousins.  They don't stay still very long.  :)

Here's the girls trying out their new Hopsplash that they got from Mamaw and Papaw today.

These sprinkler photos just scream summertime, don't they?

In other news
When Josh was flying out of Birmingham on Saturday, he ran into Drake Bell.  He sent me a photo of him via the iPhone.
Drakebell I told Cassi who daddy just met and then showed her the photo, she screamed in the high pitched fashion that she does anytime a cute boy is involved.  Then she grabbed her heart and did some dramatic falling to the floor kinda thing that she does.  She is such a drama queen.  lol.

Somebody has a birthday coming up soon...

Can you guess what we'll be doing this year at the party?

And here's one for Josh.  We miss you!

Eat some Chicago deep dish pizza for us!  :)

Popcorn for Breakfast

Yesterday, we got moving early and went to the movie theater to watch The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything.  It was one of the free kids summer shows the theater has every week.  It was a really cute movie, especially if you're into pirates like Sophie.  Cassi even enjoyed watching it, surprisingly.  We saw several of her classmates, so she was especially happy about that.  And of course, having popcorn for breakfast is always a winner in both the girls' mind.

(sorry for the quality, my camera phone isn't wonderful.  cute & happy girls though!)

A Few Flip Videos for your enjoyment!

Sophie demonstrates how to hula hoop on the Wii Fit.

Cannonball!  The girl is fearless in the water.

This wasn't staged and it is hilarious.  :)

AWOL Blogger

The good news is that I'm back! :)  Sometimes I go through lack of creativity funks where I don't blog, scrap or shoot many photos.  Hopefully, it has passed.

On to the cute kids fix...(that's why you all visit this blog, right?)

You know that quote about dance like no one is watching.  Sophie does just that.  :)

Yesterday, we went shopping for Sophie a new booster seat for the car.  We didn't find the one I was looking for, but we did find a deal that I couldn't pass up.  This bike was on sale for $9.50 at Toys R Us!!   Cassi was beyond happy about her new, shiny bike.

We had been tossing around the idea of getting her a new bike for her birthday since her knees were starting to hit the handlebars of her old one. lol.  Now we just have to teach her to ride it.  (i.e. no training wheels) Sophie was rather happy about the purchase because that meant she became the proud owner of this hand-me-down.

(Yes, she's always in some sort of costume.  At this very moment, she has on a pirate hat and is sitting on her pirate ship.)

That's it for today.  Happy Tuesday everyone!
